TQS was awarded a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase 1 contract to design a replacement energy storage system to support ICBM ground systems. The Phase 1 effort is to design a replacement system with advanced capacitors and show that it will meet the requirements supporting the ground system. The advanced capacitor-based system replaces an old chemically activated battery (that cannot be re-procured), thus eliminating environmentally hazardous materials, reducing future O&M costs, and developing a new manufacturing source.
